This is Jessica LaFayette. Guns and armed martial arts are her go-to methods of fighting.  Jessica’s actual superpower is the ability to store objects in 7 different portals, each leading to a null dimension.  She prefers to keep all of her weapons and supplies in hers and she calls forward a portal in battle in order to reach inside and find the right tool for the job. Smaller things are easier to grab, while larger objects (for instance, a tank) take more effort on her part. She has rules about these portals, and she won’t store any living creature inside of them due to an incident in her elementary school years involving a hamster that still haunts her. She keeps each portal meticulously organized and neat. There is actually an eighth portal, but she only stores personal objects there, and no one but her knows of it’s existence. A girl’s gotta have some secrets.

Jessica came from Louisiana, and joined the army at a young age. She has always been a fan of discipline and training. Eventually, she left the army, wanting to do more with her abilities without the tethers of bureaucracy and government. That’s how she came to meet up with the rest of the super-powered gang.

Jessica has a somewhat stern demeanor, and absolutely does not get along with Landis. They tend to butt heads regarding strategy, their roles, and even cleanliness.  She finds Landis’ lack of showers disturbing.

On the other hand, she finds Jon easy to get along with. She much prefers his quiet and subdued attitude to be around.

Jessica’s quiet confidence usually sends Jon into a nervous tizzy, though.

Day 1: Big Bruiser

Meet Jon. He can manipulate blood and it’s properties to become a diamond-like level of hardness and combined with his crazy strength, he becomes pretty powerful (Let’s ignore bloodborne pathogens and all that stuff because this is fiction ok). He uses the blood as a sort of armor when fighting, and the more shit he wrecks, the more blood he gets.  I’m going to differentiate this from something like blood-bending because it isn’t nearly that precise, and he would more than likely just cause internal hemorrhaging rather than a living doll.  He isn’t overly fond of his ability, but he tries to ignore this and do as he is told.  It has actually been damaging his psyche more than he realizes.

As a child he sustained a brain injury in an accident, which resulted in loss of the ability to concentrate for long periods of time, and gave him a stutter.  He became shy as a result of this, and has stuck to a job at a local butcher shop, since it suits his skillset well, and he can stay in the back and work while someone else mans the counter.

When they’re extra busy at the shop, he sometimes has to come take orders in the front-of-house.  This tends to make his stutter get worse, and he becomes clumsy due to nerves.  Those days are Very Bad Days and when he gets home from one of those he likes to read quietly for hours.  He enjoys reading all types of books, especially fantasy (no one can know this though) though it takes him longer than the average person to complete books.

Sometimes he imagines himself as a knight or sorcerer.  He thinks it must be nice to be able to rely on cunning and wit instead of pure strength.

These ladies are characters based on a dream I had.  In the dream, there was a special school for the children of the elite members of both the Italian and Chinese mafia (held in a Catholic church sanctuary…and who knows why they’d all be going to class together but ANYWAY).  All the kids sat at a long table, and their uniform was a suit and tie. The protagonist of the dream was trying to solve the murder of one of his closest friends with the help of his cousin.  These two girls were side characters that weren’t exactly villains, but they weren’t the helpful type either (maybe more like rivals).

Anyway, they’re twins, and people have a hard time telling them apart.  They use that to their advantage while “working”.  Biyu actually prefers staying back and planning from a distance, while using weapons like a rifle, and Daiyu is a little more intense and personal, with the garrote being her go-to weapon.
